As a winter sports resort Flachau is known far beyond the borders of Salzburg. But Flauchau is more than a conventional ski resort - Flauchau is the home of winter sports and the ultimate après-ski center of the region.
With the Ski amadé ski region, you'll find not only excellently groomed slopes, an extensive network of pistes and state-of-the-art lifts, but also first-class infrastructure for all winter sports from cross-country skiing, tobogganing and ski touring to snowshoeing, horse-drawn carriage rides and fun sports.
Our apartment house is located in the middle of the ski area, a few meters from the nearest lift station. In addition, a lockable ski cellar incl. boot dryer is available to our guests in the house.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Ski amadé is one of the largest ski areas in Austria. Therefore your ski pass is not only valid in Flachau, but also in many other ski regions - in the Salzburger Sportwelt, at the Hochkönig, in Gastein, in the Großarltal and even in the Schladming-Dachstein region.
Directly behind our apartment house in Flachau is a children's ski school, where our little guests can make their first turns in the snow. More experienced skiers can make their turns on the tracks of Hermann Maier on the World Cup course.
There is nothing better than ending an exciting day of skiing with a little après-ski. Luckily, the Hofstadl and other pubs and restaurants are in the immediate vicinity of our apartments in the center of Flachau.
Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing & winter hiking
There are also other ways to actively experience your winter vacation in Flachau. A total of over 700 kilometers of cross-country trails await motivated cross-country skiers in the Ski amadé ski region, who would also like to discover our mountain world in the valley.
In addition, the fresh snowy air can be enjoyed on leisurely hikes through the wintry Flachau valley. If you are looking for a unique nature experience, it is best to venture into the terrain with snowshoes and explore the snowy winter landscape around Flachau.
Culinary & Aprés-Ski
Flachau is no child of sadness. Here you can enjoy your winter vacation to the fullest. In numerous restaurants you can enjoy international cuisine or local delicacies.
Rustic alpine huts on the mountain and in the valley provide atmospheric breaks on a long day of skiing. And not to forget: With pubs like the Hofstadl, which by the way is only a few meters away from our apartment house, Flachau is one of the most popular après-ski places in all of Austria.
Excursion destinations in winter
Excursion destinations such as the city of Salzburg or the Hellbrunn Zoo are enticing all year round. Especially on cold winter days, we would also like to recommend our guests the thermal spas in the region, first and foremost the Erlebnistherme Amadé in nearby Altenmarkt. What should not be missing in any winter vacation in Flachau is a proper toboggan race.
Excellent conditions for a tobogganing excursion can be found at the Berggasthof Sattelbauer. Here begins a 4 km long natural toboggan run, which leads directly to the center of Flachau. You can either hike to the Sattelbauer or take a relaxed ride with a rental cab.
